Author Biography
Nikolai Gogol (1809-1852) was one of the foremost Russian writers of the 19th Century. A leading voice of the school of Russian literary realism, he is well known for his short stories, satires, and plays. He was also a deeply religious man, and published a less well known book of commentary on the Divine Liturgy.
